"Woe Is Not Just For Horses"







When growing up I would often hear the word “Woe” used when a person was trying to get a horse to stop. In the movies this word woe had power, and always seems to work. Something very interesting caught my attention as I was reading a passage of scripture earlier. I was reading Paul’s writings in 1 Corinthians 9:16 he said “Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” I then decided to dig a little further in the scriptures concerning the word “Woe” . Did you know the word Woe is listed in the King James Bible 125 times? This word was used by many prophets as well as Jesus. I thought it would be interesting to list a few verses that had the word Woe in it. I think as believers we should train ourselves to immediately STOP when we read the word “Woe” in the scriptures. God is screaming too many of you today “WOE”, but instead of taking heed you are continuing on a path that could be destructive. If you find your situation below I pray that you would listen to the Word of the Lord and take heed. Hebrews 4:7 says "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."

Jer.23 [1] Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!" declares the LORD.

Mic.2 [1] Woe to those who scheme iniquity, who work out evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, for it is in the power of their hands.

Zeph.3 [1] Woe to the city of oppressors, rebellious and defiled!

Matt.23 [13] "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

Luke 6: [25] Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

Lam.5 [16] The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!

Mark.14 [21] The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

Rev.8 [13] As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!

Luke.17 [1] Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come.

Job.10 [15] If I am guilty—woe to me! Even if I am innocent, I cannot lift my head, for I am full of shame and drowned in my affliction.

“Become A Better Disciples In 2010”


I have prayed about what I would like to do better is 2010 some would call this a New Years resolution. The first thing that popped in my spirit was to become a better disciple. For years now I have prayed for stuff that I really should be doing already. Like being a better man, or becoming a better friend. But this year I have decided I want God to make me a better disciple for him. A disciple is someone who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ. Being a disciple requires you to push your agenda to the side for Christagenda. Contrary to what you may believe, Jesus did not die on the cross to push your agenda. Disciples are important in Gods Kingdom because we are the tool he chose to carry the message of salvation to all the people of the world. He included this as a command in His last words before His ascension to heaven in Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

As I'm learning and maturing in God I noticed that discipleship is an area I need to grow in. It's easy to think that we have made it because we know a few scriptures but knowing the scripture and living them are two separate entities. My faith in Jesus Christ is so sure that it really shouldn’t be hard for me to tell others about him. This walk with the Lord isn’t something I’m doing because I have nothing else better to do, but this thing is so real to me. You are probably asking yourself, how can he be so sure that Christ is real? Well I am sure because I have experienced him and his power (and trust me there is nothing like it)! Not only is being a better disciple important but training disciples is just as important. I can try and spread Gods Word by my self but how much easier is it if more of us join in this cause. Deuteronomy 32:30 says “one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight”. In order to train disciples we have to be willing to spend time and teach people this Gospel. Jesus spent more than three years making disciples—teaching and training His chosen twelve. Even though He spoke to the crowds, he often drew the disciples aside privately to teach them the meaning of His parables and miracles.

There are a few things you must do in order to be an effect disciple; First you must have faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:12 “I tell you the truth; anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” Second a disciple is one who knows how to read, study, and meditate upon the Word of God, to hide its truths in his heart. It is impossible to walk in the fullness of God's Holy Spirit without an understanding of God's Word. Third a disciple of Jesus should be a man or woman of prayer. The Lord Jesus Christ, who spent 40 days in prayer and fasting in the wilderness, is our great example of this. A prayer life is developed when you make your self pray even when you don’t feel like it. Last but certainly not least a disciple must receive the Holy Ghost. The reason this is so important is because the Holy Ghost gives you power and authority over the devil. Right before Jesus ascended into heaven he told the disciples in Luke 24:49 “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." It’s important to note that he said stay in the city until you have received this power. As a disciple you must learn to be patient and receive all that God has for you before moving out too quickly. So as this year is coming to a close I pray that you all would join me in this New Year’s resolution. Lets all become better disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Pharaoh at the Nile”


Let me warn you that today’s blog can be considered a little controversial. I respect anyone’s belief on this topic but I would like to point out a few things biblically concerning abortion. I recently had to write a paper on abortion for a class I'm currently taking. Abortion is such a touchy subject for so many unbelievers and even believers. It’s important to know that as believers we can not be confused with our position on abortion. The definition of abortion is “The termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus”. This definition clearly states that it’s the DEATH of an embryo or fetus. The commandments are clear on murder; one of the Ten Commandments God gave to Moses in Exodus 20:13 was “Thou shalt not kill”. Many studies show that life begins long before a baby is born. Let’s be real with ourselves, do we really think that God is pleased with us killing his creation? Jeremiah 1:5 says "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." No matter how bad the situation seems we serve a God that absolutely can not fail. Did you know that approximately 42 Million babies are aborted every year and 115,000 per day. These types of numbers scare me. God created man to rule over all other creation; by far we are the most intelligent creation made. In Genesis 1, the bible says we have dominion over ever living creature. Yet we are the only creation aborting our own offspring. You have never seen a lion abort a lion, or a dog abort a dog. Only a human will take a life before it begins. We are so smart yet so dumb. We have to see what is going on in the spirit. Abortion is equalized to Pharaoh at the Nile River killing all the babies in Exodus Chapter 1. In Exodus 1:22 Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live." This is deeper then a regular abortion, when you walk into an abortion clinic you are walking to the Nile River and throwing your baby overboard. Do you understand that there are some women that can not have a baby? No matter what the situation seems like if you are able to produce life, you should count it as a blessing. Even if your situation seems hopeless and seems as though you have no help, God will always be a provider. You have to be able to trust him past what it looks like. I pray that this blog gets you to understand that babies are a blessing from God, and we can not take what God has created and abort it. It’s important to understand that as Christian we must be Pro-life. Look at it this way what if Mary and Joseph we Pro- Choice?

"Studying Gods Word Is Important"



Today’s Blog should cause you to take a real look at your study habits and get you to determine if you are spending enough time in the Word of God. Psalm 12:6 says “The words of the LORD are flawless”. I recently asked the question on twitter “What are some reasons people don’t read the Bible?” There are so many excuses people can give; I have listed just a few below. There is a great deal of importance when it come to reading and understanding God’s word. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 says “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” I am speaking from personal experience; this is the only book that gives life. Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” The Bible literally is an instruction manual on how to live on earth and how to make it into Heaven. I have made many of the below excuses at one point in time. If you are making any of these excuses you should pray that God would help you in that area. Studying Gods Word is important. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” God desires us to search his Word and to fully explore it’s treasures. Understanding the Bible is not always easy, but it is definitely rewarding.

We can not let these excuses stop us from studying Gods Word

The Bible is so hard to understand.

I usually end up feeling convicted and guilty when I read the Bible.

I need to be taught by the Pastor, Elder or Sunday school teacher in order to understand the Bible.

I have some real doubts about the reliability of the Bible because it's full of contradictions.

The Bible seems boring to me.

No time to study due to job, family and church.

I prefer other inspirational books.

I feel that the Bible was written by man so I don’t know what’s right and what’s wrong.

The Bible was written so long ago that it doesn't seem relevant to me.

I don’t know were to start.

Reading and understanding the Bible is important because the Bible is God’s Word. When we open the Bible, we are literally reading God’s message to us. What could be more important than reading what the creator of the universe has to say? In Acts 30 Philip was traveling to Gaza, the Holy Spirit led him to a man who was reading a portion of Isaiah. Philip approached the man, saw what he was reading, and asked this very important question: “Do you understand what you are reading?” Act 8:30 Philip knew that understanding was the starting point for faith. Without reading and understanding the Bible, we cannot apply it, obey it, or believe it.

“Pimp My Mind”




Pimp My Ride was a TV show that was on MTV from 2004 until 2007. The show was about a resourceful team of experts that took car customizing to a completely different level by taking some of the sorriest vehicles on the road and turning them into impressive new rides. They would take all types of beat up cars, everything from a Honda to a Cadillac. Once the old car came into the garage it was sure to leave out looking brand new. This morning I was reading Luke chapter 5, as I was coming to the end of the chapter I came across the parable of the new & old garments, and the parable of new wine in old wineskins. I have read this parable about a hundred times but this time it spoke to me like never before. The revelation came to me; I was operating on an old mindset just as these people were driving around in old beat up cars. Far too many people try to work the abilities God gave them but do it with an old way of thinking. Just like the wine, God can not pour fresh ideas in an old mind. We must pray that God would Pimp our mind (Give us a new mind). Romans 12:2 says “be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect”. There are great things the Lord wants to do through you but you must first renew your mind. If you want to be successful in life you have to constantly change the way you think. Just as cars get out dated so does the way we think. It’s important to take note that the devil really isn’t after materialistic stuff he wants to get our minds. I remember hearing my mother say the mind was the devils battleground. The devil realizes if you ever get control of your mind you will be unstoppable. Proverbs 23:7 says “For as he thinketh within himself, so is he”. You are so blessed that whatever you think, you can become it. That is why we have to be so careful what thoughts we entertain. When thoughts come into your mind that is against the things of God you have to rebuke them. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things”. In closing I pray this blog gets you thinking about how you use your mind on a day to day basis. Are you thinking like you thought last year? Is it possible that things aren’t working out for you because of what you allow to stay in your mind? Please know that you can not control things from popping in your mind but you can control them from staying there. Maybe you need to do like I did this morning and say Lord Pimp my mind. “Dreams from God or Something I Ate”




Dreams, Dreams, Dreams… So many people have question when it comes to dreams. Question such as: Is this dream from God or What is the interpretation of this dream? I want to spend some time today dealing with this subject of dreams. I want to get you thinking about whether your dream was truly from God or whether it was something you ate. God can speak to us anyway he wants to. But please understand that if your dream is contrary to the Bible, the dream is not of God. Dreams cannot be put into a place of authority over the Scriptures. Through out the Bible there are plenty of examples of God speaking to man through dreams. Examples are Joseph, son of Jacob (Genesis 37:5-10); Joseph, the husband of Mary (Matthew 2:12-22); Solomon (1 Kings 3:5-15); and several others (Daniel 2:1, 7:1; Matthew 27:19). There is also a prophecy from the prophet Joel (Joel 2:28), quoted by the apostle Peter in (Acts 2:17), that mentions God using dreams. I think it’s important for us as believers to seek the counsel of God concerning dreams. To often people react because they had a dream, but that does not necessarily mean the Lord was speaking. Have you ever thought about something so long that you went to sleep dreaming about it? That doesn’t mean God is speaking that could just be your feelings. I can go even deeper if you will allow me to be real. There is a certain kind of dream called a wet dream, is that a dream from God? I DON’T THINK SO. Ecclesiastes 5:7 “For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity”. If you have a dream and are really struggling with the interpretation you should seek God through prayer and read your Word. The Bible states in 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”. It’s important for us to understand that now we have the completed Bible we don’t have to rely on dreams to guide us. The Bible reveals everything we need to know from now until eternity. Most people rely on dreams because they don’t take the time to read the good book. That scripture said it gives us instructions. The men and woman of the Bible days didn’t have what we have today which is the completed Bible. I don’t want to make this blog seem as though I'm against all dreams. I believe God still speaks through vision and dreams. Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.” I think what we must be careful of, is other people saying I had a dream about you. I am just a believer if God is going to give you a dream about me he most likely will just give me the dream. And let me just pause for a minute to give the ladies a word of advise. Ladies one of the biggest pick up lines in church today is “I had a dream you were my wife”. Woman have been falling for that for years. You fool around and believe that and marry someone out of Gods will and that dream will quickly become a nightmare. Zechariah warns against people claiming to have dreams. Zechariah 10:2 “For the idols speak delusion; he diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wander their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd”. Please do not be deceived by these false dreamers. Some will even come in the name of Jesus and try to deceive us. Jeremiah 23:25–28 ““I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, who try to make my people forget my name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Baal. “ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has my word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the LORD.” Be on your guard people of God. I am not trying to persuade you to believe or not to believe in dreams I'm simple trying to get you to seek Gods flawless Word to direct your life. The next time you have a dream that seems hard to interpret ask yourself is this from God or is it something I ate. If it’s from God his Word will back it up…

“The Cliché’s Gotta Stop”


The definition of a Cliché is “A trite, stereotyped expression; a sentence or phrase, usually expressing a popular or common thought or idea that has lost originality, ingenuity, and impact by long overuse”. Anyone who knows me knows that I can not stand to hear a sermon full of clichés. Please understand that the Bible states in Proverbs 30:5 that “Every Word of God is flawless”. The Word of God doesn’t need anything added to it. Most preachers fall subject to preaching clichés because clichés tend to be crowd pleasers. When you mature in God you will come to realize that these clichés are a bit much. It’s a shame that some church people don’t read Gods Word so they think that most of the clichés they hear are actually scripture. I have listed a few clichés below, but please understand this is a SHORT list compared to how many clichés are out there. Most of these clichés are VERY POWERFUL AND VERY TRUE. I just have a problem when a preacher uses them to make the crowd jump. The problem with replacing the Word of God with these clichés is once I'm done jumping from your hot sermon I leave empty. Men and Women of God it has to stop. I think I will make a tee-shirt that says NO MORE CLICHES

“You Aint That Cute”




In today’s blog I want to talk about having the spirit of humility. If you’re offended by the title you may be one of the ones that think your hot stuff. Having beauty or talent is not a bad thing in and of itself, it’s the bad attitude that turns people off. No one likes a person that is full of themselves. There are many talented people in the world but never let your gift make you think to highly of yourself. Have you ever met a person that was talented, skilled, or beautiful but they had an all about them attitude and you were turned off. It almost made you focus on how haughty their spirit was rather then their gifts or beauty. I think that it’s extremely important that no matter how talented or beautiful you are, you consistently remind yourself “I aint that cute”. Please know that there is always someone who is stronger, faster and more beautiful then you. The Bible speaks about being humble, Matthew 23:12 says “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” I don’t know about you but I would rather be exulted because I'm humble then be humbled because I exalt myself. Trust me its not a great feeling for God to humble you, because 9 times out of 10 you will be humbled openly. I think that as Christian we have to be extremely careful that we don’t have the “I’m better then you attitude”. It will be kind of hard to promote Christ’s Agenda and yours at the same time. If you’re trying to win souls to Christ being full of yourself is NOT the way to do it. We have to remember our gifts is not about us, Psalm 115:1 “Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory”. Recently I was reading some of Paul’s writing to the early churches. It dawned on me that Paul wrote most of the New Testament yet not one book was names after him. Paul was so anointed that even the devil decided to use Paul name in the same sentence with Jesus. Acts 19:15 The evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" Now in NO WAY am I comparing Paul’s anointing to Jesus Christ, there is absolutely no comparison between God and man. I’m simple trying to point out how anointed Paul was yet he doesn’t even have a book named after him. Many of you do the work for Christ but never get recognized for it. Please know that even if man never calls your name God see’s all. It’s important for you to just stay humble because staying humble leave’s room for you to depend on Christ. Right before Jesus was crucified he taught a very powerful message at the Passover Feast, when he washed his disciples feet. The message behind the washing of the feet was all about humility. Jesus which was fully God and fully man yet he was humble enough to wash his followers feet. Jesus then said “No servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him”. I say to you if you claim the name of Jesus you should be as humble as he was. I think it’s important to note that Jesus washed Judas feet, although he later betrayed him. . Sometimes being humble requires you to serve people who you know did you wrong. I just believe if you stay humble God will exalt you in due season. Your gifts, talent and beauty all was given to you by God. Don’t ever think your that cute that your attitude changes. I know its not proper English but say it with me “I AINT THAT CUTE”. I leave you with a famous scripture from Job 1: 21 “Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD”.

"LOST"


The definition of Lost means “Unable to find one's way”. I want to spend some time talking about being spiritual lost. Before there were GPS systems I was one of those guys who always got lost. Being lost can be very frustrating especially when you’re late and running out of time. Being lost spiritually is much more frustrating. I travel a lot and I honestly can say life is so much easier with a GSP system. Even when I get lost my GPS says “Recalculating Route”. I’m so grateful that as Christian we have Christ which is our spiritual GPS and when you get lost he will direct you back on track. No matter how many wrong turns you make God will always say “Recalculating Route”. Psalm 119:105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. If you put your trust in God he will always direct your path. One of the biggest misconception of the church is when people think they can’t be lost because they go to Church. You can be a faithful member of a church, be on every board and committee and still be lost. The spirit of being lost does not care whether you belong to a church or not. Let’s take a look at the Parables of the Lost Sheep and Lost Coin Luke 15:1-10. For teaching purposes let me explain what a parable is. A parable is a short story designed to convey a concept to be understood and/or a principle to be put into practice. The word “parable” in Greek literally means, “to set beside” as in the English word “comparison” or “similitude.” In the Jewish culture, things were explained not in terms of statistics or definitions as they are in English speaking cultures. In the Jewish culture of Biblical times, things were explained in “word pictures”. Jesus taught some of his greatest lessons by parables. Let us begin with the parable of the Lost Sheep.
Parable of the Lost Sheep
Luke 15:4-7 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
Jesus taught this story to the Pharisees and the teachers of the law. As the church of the living God we must be willing to go outside of the 4 walls of the church and find the lost. The last chapter’s of Matthew, Mark and Luke Jesus ends with the same message. Go into all nations. As the church we can not lose focus of what the Lord has commanded us to do which is GO OUT . It’s funny how Jesus said this particular shepherd had 100 sheep and lost one. So many pastors think that because they have big numbers in there church that God is pleased. Jesus makes it clear he is more concerned about the one lost sheep then he is about the 99 that were in place. Let’s not get so comfortable in church until we forget that we are called to be disciples and to proclaim the good news that Jesus died and rose again on the 3rd day. Let’s move on to the Lost Coin.
Parable of the Lost Coin
Luke 15:8-10 "Suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Let us understand something the woman has lost a coin but she did not lose it outside. The scripture clearly states that the woman lost the coin IN THE HOUSE. This proves that you can be in the house of God and still be lost. The bible shows that the woman lights a lamp and sweeps the house looking for the lost coin. That is what our pastor’s should be doing when one is lost in our places of worship. They should be lighting the lamp and sweeping the house. The major difference with the coin and the sheep is that the sheep is able to make noise to let the flock and the shepherd know they have gone astray. The coin or should I say the person in the house usually gets lost without telling anyone (Coins don’t have a voice). People of God I strongly believe that we have an obligation to minister to people that have gone astray. James 5:20 says “Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” As I am closing today’s blog I pray that we all take a good look at the place we are in life. I ask you could you be lost and not realize it? After all the first question God ever asked man was “WHERE ART THOU”.

House Hunting


House hunting is a process everyone should experience at some point in there life. My wife and I are in the middle of searching for a house right now. House hunting is a time that you will be consumed with mixed emotion some good some and bad. In today’s Blog I want to compare “House Hunting” with “Friends”. It’s important that you understand the power of the people you call friends. Friends have access to your life and can give a great deal of influence, whether you want them too or not. Webster’s dictionary describes a Friend as “One attached to another by affection or esteem”. The important word is “attached” that’s what friends do they attach themselves to you. Almost like Ruth did to Naomi in the book of Ruth. Ruth 1:14 “They cried again. Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth held on to her”. As you are moving into a new season of your life you must be very careful of the people you allow into your life. Here is a few ways to see if the person you call friend should really be rewarded with that title. If they always speak negative and never have positive things to say you must question how they speak about you. If your conversations are never about God a flag should go up. The Word says in 2 Timothy 2: “Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.” The Bible teaches that we should avoid conversation that are not speaking of God. For some people that would be 98% of there conversation for the day. When you speak of things that are not of God the scripture says you become more and more ungodly. In this next season you can’t afford to lose what you have because of conversation. You also want to make sure you’re not the smartest in your group. I know that sounds kind of wired but it’s true. If you’re the one in your group always feeding people with knowledge, then who is feeding you? You want to make sure you surround yourself with people that will inspire you to be stronger, go faster, and be wiser. Most people that have searched for a home will tell you the most important part of looking for the house is LOCATION. The location will determine the value of the house. You can have a million dollar home but if there is a dump site on one side and a train station on the other your million dollar home will lose value quickly. Some of you are worth millions but unfortunately the company your keeping is making you depreciate. When looking for friends you must pray for the kind that will be there when you need them most. Luke 5:17-20 records the story of when Jesus was teaching in a house and the crowd was so big that no one else could get in. There was a group of men carrying a paralyzed man trying to get him in the house so that Jesus could heal him. Due to the crowd the men where unable to get in, so they climb onto the roof and lowered the man down to Jesus. When Jesus saw the faith of the men he said to the paralyzed man your sins are forgiven. Those are the type of people you should attach to, people that are willing to bring you to Christ when your in need. Proverbs 17:17 says “A friend loves at all times”. I am a firm believer that you need a small list of “Friends” and a big list of “People I Know”. Proverbs 18:24 says “A man of many companions may come to ruin”. To make this simple Less is Best. Think to your self am I learning with the group of people im with. Proverbs 27:17 says “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” You need people that will be honest and transparent with you. People that praise you to much are not good for you. Proverbs 27:6 “Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses”. I pray that today’s blog will cause you to evaluate who you have in your life. Don’t ignore the signs if you’re reading this wondering do I have people in my life like that, you should seek God for the answer. God is opening major doors and you can’t allow everyone to come through with you.

Gifted People

In today’s blog I want to speak to the gifted people that may not realize how vital your gift is for your future. I have met some of the most gifted people in my lifetime, im talking about gifts so extraordinary that they could be making millions. I want to give you biblical principles on how and when to use your gifts, so that your gift is being used to create success. I don’t know what your area of expertise is; it may be Arts & Crafts, Singing, Writing, Sports, Web Designing, Ect. What ever your gift is USE IT and watch God open major doors. Proverbs 18:16 says “A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men”. I think the first thing we must do is groom our gift. School, training our bodies, taking online courses is necessary. If you’re serious about your gift you will go the extra mile to make sure you gain as must knowledge as you can. As Proverbs 18 verse 16 says "your gift will bring you before great men”, the verse before that says “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.” You gain knowledge by investing time in your gift, my mother use to say practice makes perfect. I want to look at the life of Joseph. His story can be found in Genesis Chapters 37-50. Due to lack of time I will sum his life up into a few sentences. Many of us can relate to Joseph’s life, He faced just about every trial imaginable and his only crime was being a gifted man with great integrity. While in prison Joseph interprets two men’s dream “The king’s personal servant” and his “chief cook”. After the two men where release the news of Joseph gift reached the ears of Pharaoh, and that fast Joseph became second in command only answering to Pharaoh. Joseph had the ability to interpret dreams, which took him from a pit to a palace. Joseph finds himself in a place of power because of HIS GIFT. He prepares for the upcoming famine and lives to see his family, whom he forgives and embraces. Joseph was in prison, bound by his circumstances but he overcame it all by using his gift. It is easy for us to become engrossed in our circumstances and lose sight of the limitless power that lies within. Like Joseph it’s vitally important that we all recognize how tremendously gifted we are. It’s only through understands the power of your gift that you can escape the prison of despair. Can you only imagine if Joseph stopped using his gift because he was in incarcerated. He would have never been release and never been launched into a life of greatness. Do you find yourself in a situation that could improve by using more of the resources that you have at your disposal? I dare you to start using the gift God has given you to pull yourself out of your current situation. You can do it, you don’t need the lotto to gain wealth, Deuteronomy 8:18 “For it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” Gifted people I leave you with this verse 2 timothy 1:6 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” Stir it up

Don’t Go To The Store Hungry




Today’s blog goes out to all the single ladies looking for a man. After a Tweet I sent regarding single ladies choosing a man I received such a good response I decided to write a little blog about it. I have seen far too many woman fall suspect to letting there loneliness make decision for them. If its one thing I have learned down through the years it’s, never give the one thing God values (The Heart) to just anyone. 1 Samuel 16:7 talks about how “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” When you leave church and the “Hammond B3 Organ” stops playing the heart is the one “Organ” that will keep playing, and you can’t give that up easily. Loneliness is a natural feeling that we all have felt at some point in our life. But you have to make sure that you don’t let your hunger for a man drive you to pick up just any man. I can remember going to the store with my mother, and trying to put all kinds of junk food in the cart. She would say “Brandon don’t ever go to the store hungry because you will get a bunch of junk that you don’t need”. So I say the same thing to all single ladies that are hungry for a man. Don’t go man shopping while you are hungry because you will most likely get junk. You need to make sure that the empty places in your life are filled with Christ before you look for a man. Ephesians 3:19 says “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Please don’t get me wrong I completely believe in the union of marriage, the Bible teaches that marriage is honorable. Where most people get stuck is in dating. The Bible doesn’t speak about “dating” so most people learn from watching others. I wish there was a school called “Learning How To Date University” Unfortunately the only school there is, is life, and the people teaching haven’t mastered it them selves. So you have to stay prayerful that God would give you wisdom in dating and in choosing a mate. If your going to be hungry for something let your hunger be to please God. Matthew 5:6 says “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” I pray that in your search for a mate you continue to seek God for fulfillment, because a man will never be able to satisfy your hunger only God can. Below I have placed the entire 31st chapter of Proverbs here as a guide for a Godly woman.


Proverbs 31 : 1-31

1The sayings of King Lemuel—an oracle his mother taught him: 2 "O my son, O son of my womb, O son of my vows,3 do not spend your strength on women, your vigor on those who ruin kings. 4 "It is not for kings, O Lemuel— not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, 5 lest they drink and forget what the law decrees, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights. 6 Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; 7 let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more. 8 "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character 10 [c] A wife of noble character who can find? Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

"THE MAN"


This Blog goes out to all men trying to live a holy life that is pleasing to God. Being a Christian man is not an easy job, most of us try to juggle being a good son, father, husband, and role model. As men we must make sure we surround ourselves with other strong men. Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Every man needs somebody in there life that will tell them the truth no matter what. Honesty and accountability is what we need in friendships so that we won’t fall suspect to our fleshly desire. Here is a quote from Rick Warren ”If we would spend more time confessing our struggles we would spend less time confessing our sins ” Not all but most good men fall because they don’t have anyone that will strengthen them in the time of weakness. As men we should also be praying that God would show us how to overcome temptation. Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Jesus is our high priest Hebrews 3:1 “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;”. The only way to learn about our High Priest is by reading the word of God. Lust/ Porn/ Infidelity are all strongholds that most men have dealt with at some point. I don’t care how strong you think you are if your not careful temptation will overtake you. Look at Samson, he was one of the strongest men in the Bible yet he falls to temptation by a woman name Delilah which name means “weak” in Hebrew. How could a man so strong fall to a spirit that was so weak? And to think he fell because of three little words I LOVE YOU (Judges 16). Men of God its time for us to stand up and be the men who God has called us to be. Too many good men such as Politicians, Pastor, Church leaders fall because of this spirit. I want to end this blog with the story of when Nathan rebuked David for stealing Bathsheba the wife of Uriah .
2 Samuel 12: 1-7
1 The LORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, "There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, 3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him. 4 "Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him." 5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, "As surely as the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity." 7 Then Nathan said to David, "you are the man!

Categorizing “Chips”


I have grown up in the church all my life, I was raised in a house where you didn’t have a choice in the matter, it was church or get out lol. I was always at church whether it was for a meeting or choir rehearsal. I can remember times where my mother would sit me and my brother in the back of the church with our homework while she rehearsed. My father was a minister so he was always obligated to being at church as well, it seemed like we where always there. I really can’t complain I actually loved it, it taught me a lot of key principles and it showed me that if you take care of Gods house he will take care of yours. Growing up in church I saw a lot of good and bad. One thing I saw in church was that church people (not the saints) like to categorize sin. Church people tend to let the little sins such as lying pass but then condemn other sins such as fornicating. Romans 6:23 teaches that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.” God does not categorize sin, the Word says that “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). For the sake of illustration lets not use the word “SIN” let’s replace that with “CHIPS”. Just like there are many different chips there are many different kinds of sins. Romans 3:20 talks about how “through the law we become conscious of sin.” The Bible gives us clear examples of sin. Exodus 20 is where you can find the 10 commandments. Now please understand I have no problem being rebuked if I’m eating chips, I’m grateful that God has placed people in my life that will call me to the carpet when im wrong. But please don’t rebuke me for slipping and eating Lay’s potato chips and you still have Doritos on your mouth. Let’s rebuke all sin. Paul asked God in Romans 6:1-2, “Shall we continue is sin that grace may abound, But God forbid,” the scripture then says, “How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” That’s what we have to do become DEAD TO SIN. Please know the devil will only temp you with chips that you like. I don’t like Salt & Vinegar chips so the devil won’t tempt me with those, but a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos will be a little harder to resist. 1 Corinthians 10:13 starts out saying, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man.” Its common, the devil looks at what you like and tempts you with that (He is such a punk and he doesn’t play fair). But the rest of the verse says “but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” Whenever temptation arises there will always be away of escape or a window of opportunity to say NO THANKS. When it comes to being delivered from sin I mean Chips :-) you must pray that God searches your heart. Mark 7:21-23 says “21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Lets not just get caught up on outward sin there are many other sins that aren’t visible. Did you know that not having faith is a sin? Romans 14:23 states “everything that does not come from faith is sin.” (Lack of Faith is a bag of chips nobody ever deals with). What that scripture is saying is when I believe the doctor’s negative report over the healing power of God it is a sin. Or not having faith that God can bring my son off the street, that’s sin. Anytime you doubt God you are in sin. We serve a God that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think “Ephesians 3:20”. So moving forward lets not categorize sin lets look for ways to live Holy. Hebrews 12:14 says holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. All this talking about chips has made me hungry for food not sin :-)

I Found Something God "CAN NOT DO"


I know the title seems a little to the left, but there really is something that our God absolutely can not do. Before I get into what he can’t do please allow me the opportunity of introducing my self. My name is Brandon Watts I am a 29 year old male who is completely crazy about the Lord. I am a member & minister at the Love Fellowship Tabernacle in PA (Bishop Hezekiah Walker). I have two amazing boys (who are such a blessing from God) I have a wonderful wife, who brings Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD” to light for me. My main purpose in life is to please the Lord. I just got accepted to Philadelphia Biblical University and will be starting on Monday SO EXCITED. I am obsessed with reading the Word of the Lord; it is the only book that shines light in the midst of darkness Psalm 119:105. While I was reading my word last night I came across something that our God can not do. He absolutely CAN NOT LIE. In Titus 1:2 the scripture says “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began”. Sometimes we can go through life thinking that God has forgotten the things that he has promised us. The Devil will always try and detour you from what God has spoken by placing situation in your way, but please know if God spoke it, it has to come to pass. Isaiah 55:11 said it best”So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”. If your situation seems to be contrary to what God has spoken look at it as a opportunity to increase your faith in him. Our God is an awesome God...unchanging, eternal, unlimited in power, in majesty, in knowledge, in wisdom, in love, in mercy, and in holiness. But we are very much like the Israelites who, even after seeing God display His power and love repeatedly, doubted both His love and power as they came face to face with each new trial in their lives (Numbers 13-14). We have to learn to trust him even in the midst of a trial the scripture say that he is a very present help in trouble” (Psalms 46:1). Starting today I dare you to speak Titus 1:2 “GOD CANT LIE”. If your sick in your body speak GOD CANT LIE because his Word says I’m healed Exodus 15:26. If you’re going through financial difficulties speak GOD CANT LIE he said he would provide Genesis 22:14. If you’re having marital problems speak GOD CANT LIE he said what God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. If the truth be told even if God could lie because he said it, it becomes the truth. :-)
