"THE MAN"

This Blog goes out to all men trying to live a holy life that is pleasing to God. Being a Christian man is not an easy job, most of us try to juggle being a good son, father, husband, and role model. As men we must make sure we surround ourselves with other strong men. Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Every man needs somebody in there life that will tell them the truth no matter what. Honesty and accountability is what we need in friendships so that we won’t fall suspect to our fleshly desire. Here is a quote from Rick Warren ”If we would spend more time confessing our struggles we would spend less time confessing our sins ” Not all but most good men fall because they don’t have anyone that will strengthen them in the time of weakness. As men we should also be praying that God would show us how to overcome temptation. Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Jesus is our high priest Hebrews 3:1 “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;”. The only way to learn about our High Priest is by reading the word of God. Lust/ Porn/ Infidelity are all strongholds that most men have dealt with at some point. I don’t care how strong you think you are if your not careful temptation will overtake you. Look at Samson, he was one of the strongest men in the Bible yet he falls to temptation by a woman name Delilah which name means “weak” in Hebrew. How could a man so strong fall to a spirit that was so weak? And to think he fell because of three little words I LOVE YOU (Judges 16). Men of God its time for us to stand up and be the men who God has called us to be. Too many good men such as Politicians, Pastor, Church leaders fall because of this spirit. I want to end this blog with the story of when Nathan rebuked David for stealing Bathsheba the wife of Uriah .
2 Samuel 12: 1-7
1 The LORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, "There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, 3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him. 4 "Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him." 5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, "As surely as the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity." 7 Then Nathan said to David, "you are the man!

Don’t be THE MAN…. Be A MAN OF GOD

Categorizing “Chips”

I have grown up in the church all my life, I was raised in a house where you didn’t have a choice in the matter, it was church or get out lol. I was always at church whether it was for a meeting or choir rehearsal. I can remember times where my mother would sit me and my brother in the back of the church with our homework while she rehearsed. My father was a minister so he was always obligated to being at church as well, it seemed like we where always there. I really can’t complain I actually loved it, it taught me a lot of key principles and it showed me that if you take care of Gods house he will take care of yours. Growing up in church I saw a lot of good and bad. One thing I saw in church was that church people (not the saints) like to categorize sin. Church people tend to let the little sins such as lying pass but then condemn other sins such as fornicating. Romans 6:23 teaches that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.” God does not categorize sin, the Word says that “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). For the sake of illustration lets not use the word “SIN” let’s replace that with “CHIPS”. Just like there are many different chips there are many different kinds of sins. Romans 3:20 talks about how “through the law we become conscious of sin.” The Bible gives us clear examples of sin. Exodus 20 is where you can find the 10 commandments. Now please understand I have no problem being rebuked if I’m eating chips, I’m grateful that God has placed people in my life that will call me to the carpet when im wrong. But please don’t rebuke me for slipping and eating Lay’s potato chips and you still have Doritos on your mouth. Let’s rebuke all sin. Paul asked God in Romans 6:1-2, “Shall we continue is sin that grace may abound, But God forbid,” the scripture then says, “How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” That’s what we have to do become DEAD TO SIN. Please know the devil will only temp you with chips that you like. I don’t like Salt & Vinegar chips so the devil won’t tempt me with those, but a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos will be a little harder to resist. 1 Corinthians 10:13 starts out saying, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man.” Its common, the devil looks at what you like and tempts you with that (He is such a punk and he doesn’t play fair). But the rest of the verse says “but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” Whenever temptation arises there will always be away of escape or a window of opportunity to say NO THANKS. When it comes to being delivered from sin I mean Chips :-) you must pray that God searches your heart. Mark 7:21-23 says “21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Lets not just get caught up on outward sin there are many other sins that aren’t visible. Did you know that not having faith is a sin? Romans 14:23 states “everything that does not come from faith is sin.” (Lack of Faith is a bag of chips nobody ever deals with). What that scripture is saying is when I believe the doctor’s negative report over the healing power of God it is a sin. Or not having faith that God can bring my son off the street, that’s sin. Anytime you doubt God you are in sin. We serve a God that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think “Ephesians 3:20”. So moving forward lets not categorize sin lets look for ways to live Holy. Hebrews 12:14 says holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. All this talking about chips has made me hungry for food not sin :-)

I Found Something God "CAN NOT DO"

I know the title seems a little to the left, but there really is something that our God absolutely can not do. Before I get into what he can’t do please allow me the opportunity of introducing my self. My name is Brandon Watts I am a 29 year old male who is completely crazy about the Lord. I am a member & minister at the Love Fellowship Tabernacle in PA (Bishop Hezekiah Walker). I have two amazing boys (who are such a blessing from God) I have a wonderful wife, who brings Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD” to light for me. My main purpose in life is to please the Lord. I just got accepted to Philadelphia Biblical University and will be starting on Monday SO EXCITED. I am obsessed with reading the Word of the Lord; it is the only book that shines light in the midst of darkness Psalm 119:105. While I was reading my word last night I came across something that our God can not do. He absolutely CAN NOT LIE. In Titus 1:2 the scripture says “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began”. Sometimes we can go through life thinking that God has forgotten the things that he has promised us. The Devil will always try and detour you from what God has spoken by placing situation in your way, but please know if God spoke it, it has to come to pass. Isaiah 55:11 said it best”So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”. If your situation seems to be contrary to what God has spoken look at it as a opportunity to increase your faith in him. Our God is an awesome God...unchanging, eternal, unlimited in power, in majesty, in knowledge, in wisdom, in love, in mercy, and in holiness. But we are very much like the Israelites who, even after seeing God display His power and love repeatedly, doubted both His love and power as they came face to face with each new trial in their lives (Numbers 13-14). We have to learn to trust him even in the midst of a trial the scripture say that he is a very present help in trouble” (Psalms 46:1). Starting today I dare you to speak Titus 1:2 “GOD CANT LIE”. If your sick in your body speak GOD CANT LIE because his Word says I’m healed Exodus 15:26. If you’re going through financial difficulties speak GOD CANT LIE he said he would provide Genesis 22:14. If you’re having marital problems speak GOD CANT LIE he said what God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. If the truth be told even if God could lie because he said it, it becomes the truth. :-)
